Our
legislators need to hear from their constituents in order
to know how we feel! They are neither mind-readers
nor experts on all issues! They really do look to
us for reliable information about how legislation will affect
the lives of Hoosiers in need. Therefore, we have
a responsibility to share our experiences and expertise
so that our legislators are better equipped to protect and
enhance human services in Indiana. It only takes a
minute to place a call or send an email.

State legislators say
it only takes an average of 12 letters or phone calls to get their
attention on an issue. |
• |
On average, an advocate only needs
5 to 12 legislators backing an issue to pass a bill out
of committee or kill it. |
• |
This means that your single phone
call, letter, or email really can make a difference! |
