Welcome to the website for the Indiana Coalition for Human Services. For a quarter-century, ICHS has been an effective voice for vulnerable Hoosiers by educating our elected representatives about the needs of this population and the network of human services that keep them healthy, educated, working, and safe. ICHS member organizations are committed to advocating with one voice to promote public policy that betters the lives of those at risk and in need.
As the Director of Social Justice for Lafayette Urban Ministry, I see people struggling to make ends meet everyday. The direct service programs we offer help them survive. But, I also believe in working to eradicate social injustices in order to improve the quality of life for the poor. We must work for systemic change to prevent the need for services in the first place. And, when times are tough, people need more support, not less.
I am honored to assume the presidency of this esteemed organization. ICHS has a long history of providing leadership and education on human service issues, and for being a strong voice on behalf of those who often have the weakest voice. Our work helps make Indiana a better place for all Hoosiers to live, work, be educated, and raise a family.
